Another Halberd
Late 16th Century
With spike of stiff diamond section mounted on a spherical knop and pounced with scrolls at its base, flat crescentic axe-blade pierced with two triangular patterns of circular holes, down-sloping fluke also pierced with circular holes, and struck on one side with a mark, a split-stemmed cross, both sides of the blade and fluke with incised decoration involving standing figures (some wear), open socket with two side-straps (one repaired), and original octagonal wooden staff (base incomplete) studded with nails (many missing) with large domed brass heads, and originally covered with velvet (now removed)

On the Friday one week after the sale, a transfer and administration charge of £17.50 per lot will be payable and a storage charge of £3.00 per lot per day will then come into effect. These charges are payable to Cadogan Tate and are subject to VAT and an insurance surcharge.
