A Composite 18-Bore German Or Dutch Wheel-Lock Pistol
Circa 1620-30
With two-stage barrel struck at the breech with two proof marks (indistinct, touch-hole relined), flat bevelled lock lightly engraved inside and out with scrolls, and with sliding pan-cover, rounded stepped tail, and external wheel with shaped horizontal iron bridle, varnished full stock (repaired, minor chips, old worm holes, fore-end of later date), straight 'fish-tail' butt with oval pommel bound with later iron band, iron trigger-guard with (later ?) applied trigger-return spring, and later steel-tipped ramrod (iron parts with some pitting throughout)
