A Berlin (K.P.M.) rectangular plaque
painted with a pug and a white and tan terrier seated on their haunches, inscribed to the reverse Basko (sic) and What (sic), incised numerals and impressed marks, in giltwood frame, the backboard inscribed WAT & BASCO 1888. Prince & Princess Henry of Battenberg's favourite dogs Wat died July 1889 Basco Died April 1892. (very slight surface wear to the edges), the plaque -- 13.5cm. x 11cm.

Provenance
Reputed to have passed by descent to the present owner from a member of the family in service at Windsor Castle.
