Squadron Leader David Harry Prosser was born in August 1889 and educated at Fettes prior to joining the Royal Flying Corps in September 1917. Qualifying as a Pilot and appointed a 2nd Lieutenant in April
1918, he went on to serve on Sea Patrol duties and was transferred to the Unemployed List in June 1919. With the renewal of hostilities on the horizon, Prosser was appointed a Flying Officer in No. 946 (City of Glasgow Balloon) Squadron, Auxiliary Air Force, in April 1939 and transferred to the Balloon Branch of the R.A.F. in March 1940. Advanced to Acting Squadron Leader in December 1940, he went on to serve with a Coastal Command unit based in West Africa. Prosser was finally released from the Service in July 1945 and died in August 1969.
