Lot Essay

2nd Lieutenant Sydney Harold Boyer Emms was born in August 1898 and joined the Royal Flying Corps in May 1917, being appointed a Temporary 2nd Lieutenant and posted to Egypt as a Pilot in September of the same year. His subsequent appointments appear to have been with No. 142 Squadron and No. 57 Training School. Emms was placed on the Unemployed List in February 1919.
