Lot Essay

This bachelor's chest has a fitted well to the underside of the hinged top, similar to the 'Queen Anne bachelor's chest' sold by Mrs. E.R. Stewart, July 16, 1953, lot 52. Another unusual feature of this chest is the brushing-slide in addition to the hinged-top.
