With rocaille and martial trophy-shaped back above a solid moulded seat, with rocaille-shaped sides, on scrolling foliate carved and turned front legs, and fluted back legs

拍品專文

The cartouche, with a trophy of arms enveloped in serpentined scrolls of Roman foliage, symbolises Peace and is conceived in the French picturesque manner. The cartouche, which is designed in the mid-18th Century Netherlandish style, and has been incorporated as the back of a hall seat in the antiquarian Dutch manner.
