Meiji-Taisho Period (early 20th Century)
Designed with a pair of swimming ducks and water plants, the ducks executed in gold and silver wire and wireless enamel of blue, grey and brown and the water plants green with white flowers outlined in silver wire, the calm stream indicated by streaks of deep blue enamel and pale blue wireless enamel and the spiky grasses behind the water plants in wireless green enamel, interior and base silvered, rims shakudo; incised inscription on base Yamagata ken futsu kyoiku shoreihin (presentation piece to Yamagata prefecture for fostering education)
