The flat top hood with molded cornice and blind-fret carved frieze and hinged door between turned fruitwood columns, the brass face with chased and textured ground and with putti raising crowns to the sprandrels, the crossbanded case with featherbanded door fitted with a brass-rimmed glazed pendulum aperture raised on later skirting, the two-train movement with anchor escapement striking the hour on a bell, probably formerly with domed hood
