A George III mahogany longcase clock, last quarter 18th century
The case with carved rosette caps to a swan neck pediment, with blind fret panelling, outset fluted columns to the front, with wavy top trunk door (warped) and on plain plinth (splits) above a wavy skirting, the 12in. brass dial with mask and foliate spandrels to a silvered chapter ring, the matted centre with arched signature plaque MAT.W JULER BEDMINSTER, with subsidiary seconds ring and date aperture with engraved border, the arch with painted rolling moon with HIGH WATER AT BRISTOL KEY, the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement -- 91in. (231cm.) high
