A LOUIS XV ORMOLU-MOUNTED TULIPWOOD, KINGWOOD AND BOIS DE BOUT MARQUETRY TABLE EN CHIFFONNIERE
Circa 1750, attributed to BVRB
The waved rectangular hinged top inlaid with a central spray of flowers within a confronting C-scroll cartouche with conforming foliate spandrels, framed within a slightly raised three-quarter gallery and enclosing a fitted tulipwood-lined interior, originally divided, with quarter-veneered top and later quatrefoils centring the sides, the waved frieze with simulated panels and asymmetrically-cast rocaille and acanthus clasps, incorporating a fitted drawer to one end with three compartments for wells, on foliate and cabochon-guilloche headed cabriole legs joined by a quarter-veneered galleried undertier, the channelled border leading to acanthus-cast scroll sabots, the channelled border and apron mount replaced, the undertier returned to its original position
