Possibly American, Circa 1870
The serpentine-shaped shelf with stepped edge, above a triangle-moulded front, the arched opening with rope-twist edge, centred by a scrolled cartouche carved with a boy and girl on a vine-garlanded swing, the jambs each with a fluted pedestal, mounted to the left with a young boy and to the right with a young girl, each gathering grapes, on stepped shaped block feet, with marble hearth surround
