Possibly American, Circa 1870
The serpentine-shaped shelf with stepped edge, above a triangle-moulded front, the arched opening with rope-twist edge, centred by a scrolled cartouche carved with a young girl on a swing, the jambs each with a stepped fluted pedestal, mounted to the left with a boy and dog and to the right with a girl and kid, on stepped shaped block feet, with marble hearth surround
