A Fine 14-Bore D.B. Flintlock Sporting Gun With Alternative Tubelock Mechanisms

With browned twist barrels and silver fore-sight, the broad elevated rib engraved with a martial trophy at the rear and inscribed 'Joseph Manton's New Improvements by His Majesty's Patent', case-hardened patent recessed breeches each with water-drain and platinum-lined touch-hole, case-hardened tang finely engraved with flowers, scrolls, and a pair of doves, all on a hatched ground, case-hardened signed engraved flat bevelled locks each with roller, blued steel-spring, signed patent steel (refaced) with pierced lip, and blued platinum-lined gravitating safety-stop, figured walnut half-stock (chipped above and in front of the left lock), chequered grip, finely engraved blued iron mounts, blued trigger-plate with pineapple finial, silver escutcheon engraved with a viscount's crest and coronet, original brass-mounted ramrod, and much original finish, the barrels forged by Charles Lancaster
