A large jewelled parcel-gilt enamel Presentation Plate
marked Fabergé with Imperial warrant, workmaster Julius Rappoport, Moscow, 1896-1908
Circular, the center a raised shield set with cabochon moonstones with four Imperial double-headed eagles and cabochon cornelians resting on trefoils at intervals, the rim with cast and chased foliate and floral scroll band with four roundels enclosing the arms of Russia and Greece and the date '16 August' in Russian and '1902', each on red enamel ground, and flanked by two cabochon moonstones, in foliate and strapwork mounts, the whole between twisted ropework borders, marked under base, in fitted case stamped Wartski

Prince Nicholas (10/22 January 1872 - 8 February 1938) was the third son (fourth child of eight) of King George I of Greece and his wife, formerly Grand Duchess Olga Konstantinovna of Russia. Grand Duchess Elena (17/29 January 1882 - 13 March 1937) was the youngest child, and only daughter of the son of Alexander II, Vladimir, and his wife Maria Pavlovna, born Duchess of Meckenburg.
