According to Kenneth Snowman, this ring, formerly in the collection of the Fabergé representative in London, was traditionally believed to have been the Tsar's personal ring, made by Fabergé.
Such rings with the cypher of Alexander III and Nicholas II were presentation gifts, a number of them appear in the records of the Imperial Cabinet executed by Fabergé, Bolin and others.
