Figures that correspond to the present model, based on drawings by François Boucher, were produced at Vincennes as early as 1748. By 1752, these designs, most likely by Pierre Blondeau, were codified and moulds made in order that an edition of similar figures could be produced. The present figure is an example of the largest of the three sizes in which the model was made.
