Decorated overall in imitation of oriental lacquer, the shaped narrow top over a slant front and serpentine and bombé case, the slant front decorated with chinoiserie figures within a landscape with trees and pagodas traversing water on a bridge, enclosing a tulipwood veneered interior with long shelf over a waved serpentine central long drawer and flanking short drawers behind a well with banded quarter-veneered slide-top and tooled red leather writing-surface, the exterior of the case decorated in panels to each side depicting peasants in extensive tree-filled landscapes with pagodas and temples on rocky outcroppings, above a waved apron with central asymmetrical rocaille ruffled shell and acanthus ormolu clasp, on hipped cabriole legs headed by conforming pierced rocaille angle mounts to molded chutes and acanthus-cast sabots
