kangxi six-character mark and of the period
Of unusually large size, the rounded sides rising to a slightly everted mouth lip, covered overall in a rich egg-yolk-yellow glaze pooling around the rim and foot, rim chip restored

Compare the similar bowl of this size in the National Palace Museum of Taiwan, Catalogue, Qing Dynasty Porcelain, pl.63; another exhibited, Qing Imperial Porcelain, Nanjing Museum, Chinese University of Hong Kong, 1995, Catalogue, no.5; two similar bowls in the Percival David Foundation, Catalogue, section 6, no.A 552. A similar bowl was sold in these Rooms, 5 June 1995, lot 230. Compare also the slightly smaller bowl (12¼in., 31.4cm. diam.) illustrated by J.
