Mughal India, circa 1600
gouache heightened with gold on paper, in a courtyard a prince sits on a low gold throne attended by thirteen women who offer refreshments, outside the courtyard wall stand six male courtiers and two grooms with horses, later applied buff margin and blue border both with gold sprinkles, framed and glazed, (a few repaired wormholes, some flaking and repainting to faces, very light rubbing and spotting) - miniature 17.5 x 9.7cm.
