A LOUIS XV ORMOLU-MOUNTED BOIS SATINE, AMARANTH AND TULIPWOOD SECRETAIRE A ABBATANT
The moulded rectangular liver marble top with waved sides above a fall-front with two shaped quarter-veneered panels with foliate angle- clasps centred by a palmette and trailing floral escutcheon, enclosing to the reverse a red leather-lined writing-surface and a fitted interior with various compartments and four short drawers, the lower section with two conforming doors enclosing one shelf and an oak coffre-fort, above a foliate-mounted apron, the angles headed by grotesque masks suspending a husk-trail above the rounded angles, on cabriole feet terminating in pierced foliate sabots, the marble with restored breaks, restorations and partially remounted, the marble inscribed in blue chalk 'Ramsay' and the top of the secretaire in red chalk '8047'
