An album with manuscript title 'Water Colour Paintings by Catherine S. Green. 1848-1852. V, Kensington Palace Gardens'. London: 1848-1852. Large 4° (360 x 265mm). 30 original pencil and watercolour drawings (220 x 307mm. and smaller) mounted on 21 card leaves, preceded by a calligraphic manuscript title mounted on front free endpaper. Original red morocco gilt, initials 'C.S.C.' in gilt on upper cover, silver-gilt clasps.
A fine highly decorative selection, including eleven large-format botanical studies, and two ornithological studies. The remaining smaller works are generally copies of works of a humorous nature. The botanical subjects are: May; Snowdrops; Fuschias; Forget-Me-Not(2); Holly; Primrose; Morning Glory; Campanulas; Geraniums and Yellow ?Jasmine. The birds depicted are a Buzzard and a Mute Swan.
