A NAGINATA IN LACQUER MOUNTS
Mei: Tamba no kami Kanemichi, 17th Century, the mounts 19th Century
The blade unokubi zukuri, with koshibi ni soehi to both sides, forging pattern itame on chirimen hada, tempered edge notare of nie, kaeri boshi, tang ubu, 40.5cm.; encased in a roironuri lacquer shaft and case decorated with mon of kiri, botan and manji on ferns, gilt kanagu similarly carved, (slight wear)
Overall, approx. 243cm.
