A LACQUER TABAKOBON
Late 19th Century
Decorated in gold and iroe hiramakie, gold foil, kirigane, hirame and togidashi on a roironuri ground depicting mandarin ducks beside plum blossom in a stream, with two small and one large drawers with silver handles formed as plum blossom, silvered hinged metal pipe holders above the drawers, the top decorated in gold and silver hiramakie with hanabishi patterns, silvered metal fittings carved and pierced with cranes and plum blossom, (slight wear, one foot restuck)
