Qianlong six-character reign mark and of the period (1736-95)
Painted at the centre with a ribboned lotus bouquet below a composite floral scroll in the well, a narrow band of classic scroll beneath the slightly flaring rim, the exterior similarly decorated below a leiwen design at the rim

The design on this dish is a close copy of the one occasionally found on Yongle dishes, known as 'lotus bouquet'. See for example S. Jenyns, Later Chinese Porcelain, London, 1951, Pl. XIX, Fig. 2. Another of the Yongzheng period from the City Art Gallery, Bristol, was exhibited by the Oriental Ceramic Society, Arts of the Ch'ing Dynasty, London 1964, no. 114.
