The interior enamelled with a reclining female nude in the European tradition lying back on violet-blue bedding, her dog asleep at her feet indicating her fidelity, the exterior enamelled and gilt in the Imari palette with peony issuing from rockwork, and reserved on one side with a delicately and finely-drawn long-tailed bird in tones of sepia
