Unsigned, Meiji Period (Late 19th/Early 20th Century)
Nashiji ground; decoration in gold and silver hiramaki-e and togidashi-e and foil; rims gold lacquer; base nashiji

Both sides of the lid with a profusion of auspicious emblems including cranes, pines, plum blossom, and minogame [mythical long-tailed turtles]; two removable rectangular trays; ink-stone with gilt metal rim; silver metal suiteki [water-dropper] with gilt fretwork
