The box with four tiers; gold nashiji ground; decoration in gold, black and red hiramaki-e and takamaki-e, gold and silver foil, and togidashi-e; interiors of compartments and containers red lacquer; rims gold lacquer; bases black lacquer with sparse nashiji; rectangular tray; pewter bottles with lacquered stoppers; red lacquered sakazuki [sake cup]; handle of frame gilt copper
The designs including flowering peonies; three children in outlandish costume playing blind-man's bluff; and a female firewood-pedlar from the village of Ohara outside Kyoto
