Each circular and with a splayed footring; red lacquer grounds; decoration in gold, silver and coloured hiramaki-e, takamaki-e and togidashi-e; the largest with revellers aboard a Chinese-style ship with a prow in the form of a geki [fish-hawk] supporting a pile of rice-bales, signed in gold hiramaki-e on the base Kajikawa saku [made by Kajikawa], diameter 12in. (30cm.); the next with a party of drunken night-time revellers attempting to land from their boat, the boatman struggling to keep the prow of the boat on the land, signed in gold hiramaki-e on the base Naniwa Shoju saku [made by Shoju of Osaka], diameter 8¾in. (22cm.); the next with two peasants leading their horses laden with rice-sheaves across a bridge by rustic dwelling, unsigned, diameter 5½in. (14cm.); the next with a sumo wrestler holding a fan inscribed with the character Tani, unsigned, diameter 4 1/8in. (10.5cm.); the next with a bird by a cherry-tree, unsigned, diameter 4in. (10.2cm.); the smallest with the hills and cherry-trees of Yoshino, unsigned, diameter 3¾in. (9.7cm.), slight old damage (6)
