A Koike Yoshiro school tsuba, the circular iron plate pierced with six kikyo flowerheads in ko-sukashi and yo-sukashi and decorated with shinchu zogan of foliage, mimi with shinchu fukurin, unsigned, 3¼in. (8.3cm.), thickness 4mm, 17th century; an Echizen Kogitsune tsuba, the small kawari gata iron plate depicting a dragon among waves in sukidashi bori, kawari square mimi, signed Echizen ju Kogitsune saku kore, 18th century, 2 1/8in. (5.6cm.) thickness approx. 5mm.; a Heianjo tsuba the circular iron plate decorated in brass hirazogan with flowers, plants and symbols of thunder, dote mimi and udenuki ana, unsigned, 16th century, 2½in. (6.3cm.), mimi 4mm; a Heianjo tsuba, the iron plate depicting two lobsters in takabori and brass takazogan, the reverse similarly decorated with deer among scattered maple leaves, square mimi, unsigned, late 16th/early 17th century, 2¾in. (6.8cm.), mimi 4mm.; an Iwamoto school fuchi-kashira, the shakudo nanako base metal worked in takabori and iroe takazogan depicting mejiro [white-eyed birds] jostling for position on the shaft of a hoe, signed Yoshitsugu, 19th century; an Omori school fuchi, the shakudo nanako base depicting shimekazari [rope decoration] for the New Year, signed Kenkosai Kazunori, 19th century; a Mito kinko fuchi-kashira, the shibuichi base depicting Shoki and oni in takabori and gold zogan, signed Tankasai Mototoshi zo, 19th century; an iron Edo Umetada school fuchi-kashira, the iron migaki-ji base decorated with dragons in shibuichi suemon and gold iroe, signed Narimasa and kao, 19th century; and a Murakami school fuchi-kashira, the shakudo chirimen-ishime-ji base depicting dragonflies and reeds with water drops in takazogan, the heads inlaid in shell and the details in gilt, with signature Buyo ju Jochiku and kao, 19th Century; and a round iron tsuba lightly chiselled with yasurime, signed Hoan and kao (2nd generation), 7.7cm. The first, this Yoshiro tsuba falls into the category of Heianjo zogan, which were popular in the Momoyama period just after Heianjo zogan tsuba began to be made. The combination of elaborate zogan and small sukashi won favour with the samurai.
The sixth, Kazunori was a student of Omori Hidetomo and later joined The Eiman (Hidemitsu) family. He worked in Edo Bakuro cho.
The eighth, Narimasa was born in 1742 and was the son of Narishige.
