A YAMATO SENJUIN SCHOOL WAKIZASHI BLADE BY RIKIO
Mei: Rikio, Nanbokucho period (14th century)
The blade honzukuri, mitsu-mune, shallow torii-zori with ko-kissaki, masamehada, suguha hamon of nie, omaru boshi to the omote and hakikake boshi to the ura, ubu nakago with two mekugi-ana, 48.8 cm.; in its black laquer saya with a round iron tsuba pierced with two fans decorated with landscapes and pines, bamboos and plums in gold sen-zogan, shibuichi kozuka carved with horses in a stable in iroe takazogan, the gold menuki formed as stuffs, 19th century
