Hand-coloured engraved frontispiece and 75 plates, comprising 28 hand-coloured costume plates, heightened in silver and gold, and a further 47 engraved maps, plans and plates on 45 leaves, some folding and/or hand-coloured in outline. 11 leaves of folding engraved music. (Some light browning and offsetting, a few plates close-shaved.) Red half morocco gilt by Brentanos, New York, gilt-panelled spines tooled with trophies of war, gilt edges.
This specialist journal ran for 30 numbers between October 1798 and March 1801, and included 'military portraits' of the king and prince of Wales as a frontispiece. Plates 39, 40 and 41 are on one folding leaf. Colas 450; Ogilby 134; Tooley 112. (2)
