A mid 19th-Century 2½-inch (6.4cm.) diameter miniature terrestrial globe made up of twelve coloured printed gores, the equatorial and prime meridian graduated in degrees, the latter running through Iceland, the ecliptic graduated in days of the month and of the houses of the Zodiac with sigils, the oceans showing ocean currents, trade winds and the track of Cook's first voyage, the Antractic showing the portion of coastline for Graham's Land, unlabelled, the continents with no national boundaries shown, but with rivers and some towns, Greenland with no northern coastline (general discolouration, severe damage including loss of paper around South Pole, a crack around the equator, with some paper and plaster loss, other areas of abrasion and paper loss), fitting loosely onto a simple baluster turned fruitwood column and plinth base (with repaired crack) -- 43/8in.
