A Steiff German Infantryman
with felt body, the face with centre-seam, boot button eyes, painted hair and features, blue jacket with red collar and cuffs, brass buttons, leather belt, black trousers, black boots, blue pickelhaube and button in ear --18in. (45.5cm.) high, circa 1916 (two moth holes to head, four other surface marks, faded, pickelhaube lacks badge, a few holes to uniform, possibly missing back pack); and a Steiff postcard featuring three similar soldiers, postmarked 9.8.17
