Major Henry Barrington returned to the Peninsula from recruiting work in England to assume command of No. 2 Troop in time for the Battle of Vittoria. One of his Troop Officers was the famous De Lacey Evans, the subject of Edward Spiers' biography, The Radical General, a worthwhile companion for some stories of the 3rd Light Dragoons in the Peninsula. Following Vittoria, the Troop did good work in its pursuit of the French, capturing prisoners, an artillery piece and a large sum of money.
Barrington transferred to the 87th Foot as a Major in 1819, to the 91st Foot in 1820 and was placed on Half-Pay in the following year.
