Lot Essay

Gerald Nailor learned to paint at the Santa Fe Indian School. His paintings reflect the classical "studio" style--a flat two-dimensional style with defining lines. His subjects include clouds, rain, sun, animals and plants as well as stylized pueblo symbols, (Wyckoff 1996:19-49).
