A Dutch Colonial tortoiseshell and silver-mounted sirihcasket
Apparently unmarked, former Dutch East Indies, half 18th Century
On four silver button feet, the corners fitted with floral mounts, swing handles, the floral lockplate with three flowerhead nails (one missing) and key decorated with dragon heads, the hinged cover with central shaped oval plague with similar floral design and four flowerhead nails, silver hinges inside box and chain, containing two shaped oval boxes, the hinged covers engraved and pricked with various animals and a plain chalk container
