This form of side table is typically Irish with its deep frieze, angled legs and end drawer. It relates to one previously at Belgard Castle, Cloidwalkin, Co. Dublin, illustrated in M. Harris & Sons, A Catalogue and Index of Old Furniture and Works of Decorative Art, London, n.d., vol. III, p. 328. A marquetry table of the same form in the National Museum, Dublin, is attributed to William Moore and bears the crest of the O'Grady family of Killballyown, Co. Limerick.
