AN EAST GREEK FIGURAL ARYBALLOS

Probably Rhodian, molded in the form of a female bust, holding an object, perhaps a flower, in her left hand between her breasts, her right hand supporting her left fore-arm, her chiton with a black band at the collar and vertical black bands along the sleeves, wearing a fillet of red and white dots in her long hair, with two long strands falling on to each shoulder and a long mass in back cut off square, wearing dotted earrings, her almond-shaped eyes in added white, rimmed in black, with black pupils, beneath arching brows, the upper surface of the vessel mouth with dots alternating with double lines
