A GREEK BRONZE AND BONE ILLYRIAN HELMET
Classical Period, Circa 5th Century B.C.
Of hammered sheet, rounded in form with a flaring neck-guard, each cheek-guard perforated at the forward tip, with a perforation at the center of the forehead for attachment of a crest between the two raised parallel double ridges across the crown, with thin bone piping around the entire edge, held in place by evenly spaced bronze rivets
