Describes several encounters and sightings of pirate ships including the CAPTURE OF A PIRATE SHIP. 6 February - 17 May 1823. 83 pages penned in ink, recto and verso. 2o. 321 x 202 mm. (Minor browning and staining). "Dispatched [several boats] in chase of a suspicious sail - which was run on shore and trawled(?) into the Mangrove bushes - our boats on landing were received by a volly of Musquetry from the Pirates, when they made their escape into the woods. Set fire to their buildings five in Number and found many cutlasses and other piratical weapons together with boats masts and sails among the mangroves."
