A Sevres milk-jug (pot a lait a trois pieds)
Circa 1765
Of squat baluster form, the branch handle and three feet enriched with gilding and with foliage terminals, painted by Viellard with a large milk-churn, storage-jar and barrels in a wooded landscape with a small cottage, within a gilt trefoil cartouche against a broad band of iron-red brick ornament below a border of gilt trailing foliage, gilt line rim (chip to foot)
