A German gilt-metal mounted oval rococo snuff-box
Circa 1755
With moulded exterior, the sides painted with shaped diaper panels, a putto eating grapes by a cellar door, a satyr falling over and a mammal eating grapes, the base with a putto riding a goat led by a satyr, the cover with a bust-length portrait of a lady in profile to the right within a C-scroll border interwoven with trailing vine, the interior with a gallant embracing his companion beneath drapery before a distant landscape, a child presenting them with flowers (areas of slight wear to base, areas of minute wear to portrait)
