An oxidised and lacquered-brass spectrograph,
unsigned, the prism drum and sighting tubes mounted on a ball-and-socket joint, with adjustable pillar for height and tripod stand, the drum containing a prism, each sighting tube with fine-screw adjustments and focusing, the adjustable slit with spring-loaded tangent screw (possibly by Max Kohl, circa 1870) -- 181/8in. (46cm.) high in lowered position
