An early 19th-Century French brass graphometer,
signed on the arc Lenoir a Paris, the scale divided 0°-180°/180°-0°, the limb with two fixed sights, the centre with silvered compass, the needle with clamp, the alidade with two verniers and fixed sights, on tripod or staff mounting, the ball-and-socket joint with butterfly-wing nut, contained in the original shaped fruitwood case painted dull green, with brass carrying handle -- 10¼in. (26cm.) wide
