A POLISH GILT-BRASS HEXAGONAL QUARTER STRIKING SMALL TABLE CLOCK
FR:Heckel, Warschau, first half 18th century
The dial signed FR: Heckel warshau within the foliate engraved centre within the brass Roman and Arabic chapter ring with half hour markers and blued steel beetle-and-poker hands, foliate engraved spandrels to the six corners, the movement with hexagonal thick gilt brass plates secured by six back-pinned ringed pillars, the backplate signed FR: Heckel. Warsehau, foliate pierced triangular-shaped foot to the foliate pierced balance cock table flanked by the calibrated hairspring regulator, chain fusee and verge escapement, the strike train driven by a single resting barrel engraved with stipple markings, the strike on a bell typically housed within the case cover resting on six turned brass feet, the case sides set with glazed D-ended windows
