The movement with four square-section steel pillars enclosing three steel plates for the two-train movement, the going-train with verge escapement now with front-swinging pendulum, the spring barrel with brass end caps and later wire lines to the original short fusee, later second and contrate wheels, the countwheel strike train with chain and fusee, the spring barrel with steel caps, both trains wound through the rear dial with Roman chapter ring with touch pieces and foliate engraved centre, later hand, the dial plate engraved all over with formalised strapwork inhabited with dragons, the front dial with narrow Roman chapter ring with touch pieces and later steel hands and later dial centre, the alarm train now removed, the hour struck by a single hammer on a bell above housed within a gilt-metal domed basket carved with grotesques flanked by griffons and surmounted by a later figure of Hercules, the angles surmounted by four glass-set cabochons within gilt settings, the side panels cast with flowers within scrolling foliage inhabited with dolphin heads and centred by an arrangement of flowers in an urn, the gilt repoussée base with later base-plate and later? gilt iron feet
