A Victorian miniature engraved gilt-brass travel timepiece
mid 19th century
The case with inverted breakfront sides and pilasters to all angles, with stepped base and top, engraved overall with hatching and foliate designs, the top engraved with a figure of Chronos, with recessing handle, with plain solid rear door, the silvered dial engraved with leafy scrolls and with flowerheads to the centre of the plain Roman chapter ring (rubbing), blued steel fleur de lis hands, with signature banner below with rubbed signature, the single chain fusee movement with vertically positioned plain steel three arm balance with lever escapement on the backplate
