Baillie lists the signature 'Brockbanks' as attributable to the brothers John, (a. 1761, d. 1806) and Myles (a. 1769, d. 1821) and that after John's death the company no longer used exactly the same signature.

The case of massive construction with detachable double-footed base to the plinth fitted with a central door with an internal lock giving easier access to the weights, the trunk door with simple architectural arched mouldings flanked by reeded pilasters on plain pedestals, the arched hood with reed stop-chamfered angles flanking the gilt-brass lined door, original pierced wood sound frets to the sides, the shallow-arched silvered dial engraved Brockbank's London above the Roman and Arabic chapter ring with blued steel spade hands and seconds ring in the centre, the massive movement with reflective shouldered plates with five front-pinned pillars, Graham's deadbeat escapement the strike train with internal sub-assembly for the pin and warning wheels, strike on bell above the plates, the massive brass-barrels with wirelines, original brass and iron pulleys and lead weights
