The icon realistically painted on metal, the oklad repoussé, chased and engraved to imitate vestments on geometric ground, the bible and panagia with champlevé enamel decoration, the cloisonné enamel halo of stylized flowers on stippled ground enclosing a champlevé enamel mitre, the border with stylized floral scroll on stippled ground within blue pellet borders, the lower border with gilt plaque engraved in Russian 'To the Lord Heir Tsarevich Nikolai Aleksandrovich on the day of his majority 6 May 1884, from the officers of the Composite Guards Battalion ...', marked under base and on halo
